Hailing from the South of France, Chef Catala brings over twenty years of culinary expertise, creativity, passion and dedication to his craft resulting in exceptional dining experiences.
Known as a culinary maestro, Chef Catala has garnered acclaim for his innovative approach to Mediterranean and French gastronomy. With an impressive background in Michelin starred establishments, a commitment and extensive knowledge of using the finest ingredients, Chef Catala is set to elevate the dining experience at Villa Azur to new heights. Chef Catala’s proficiency in menu development and pairing extends beyond the creation of individual dishes. His ability to infuse innovation and creativity into traditional dishes while maintaining the authenticity and flavor profiles adds a fresh and contemporary dimension to Villa Azur’s culinary offerings.
In his role as Executive Chef, Chef Catala will be spearheading a revitalization of the restaurant’s menu, infusing it with his signature style and introducing a selection of new dishes that showcase his culinary prowess. Guests can anticipate a delightful journey through the flavors of the Mediterranean, with a distinct French touch that reflects Chef Catala’s roots.
The updated menu will feature a curated selection of dishes crafted by Chef Catala showcasing his master artistry of blending traditional French techniques with the vibrant flavors of the Mediterranean. The new stars of the menu include the Grilled U3 Camarones ($92) made with tomato star Anise jam served with a Pastis Flambé, the Belvedere 10 & Crab Fettuccine ($64) featuring fresh pomodoro sauce, crab, cream and topped with lemon zest. A new decadent dessert, the Baked Tres Leches Flambé ($18), a sponge cake topped with vanilla cream, Italian meringue, fresh fruit marmalade prepared tableside will be featured. In addition, a Caviar Bump ($36) featuring green Ossetra caviar with crushed lime and a proprietary blend of secret spices will also be prepared tableside followed with a shot of perfectly paired vodka.
