It publishes The Guide, a monthly edition of the city’s best places; The Miami Guide 50, an annual ranked list; and The Miami Guide Insider, a weekly newsletter for 10,000+ locals. Who’s behind it
Mike Rynart
FOUNDER & EDITOR
Mike co-founded The Miami Guide in 2011 and edits every word of it.
He’s been here through three restaurant cycles, the Wynwood build-out, and whatever we’re calling Brickell now. He skates the boardwalk most mornings. When something on this site says go, it means he went.
Banna Fakhoury
CO-FOUNDER & PARTNERSHIPS
Banna is from here. Not moved-here-in-2015 from here — Miami native.
She co-founded The Miami Guide and leads client partnerships, after a decade doing deals in South Florida luxury and new development that put her in the top 1% of agents in the country. She knows the ownership groups and developers behind half the buildings this site covers. That network is why brands end up here. Weekends she’s on the water, usually pointed at the Bahamas.
One of us was born here. The other’s been writing about it since 2011.

How we choose
We pick them. That’s the whole process.
No paid placements. No sponsored inclusions. No PR pitches accepted. Some businesses we write about have worked with us. Most haven’t. It makes no difference to whether they appear here.
When something is a partnership, we label it. Everything else is just what we think.
