Located in the heart of Edgewater at 1600 NE 1st Avenue, The Canvas Bar is a long overdue, neighborhood hang-out destination, combining elevated comfort foods, hand-crafted cocktails, craft beers and global wines with retro entertainment including vintage arcade games, billiards and foosball, promising an unparalleled experience for all.
The Canvas Bar is the ultimate escape, featuring tropical and nautical-inspired decor including palm-tree patterned wallcoverings, bamboo accents and hues of vibrant yellow that creates a relaxed yet playful ambiance. The 2,750-square-foot, 150-seat indoor dining area features 21 tables, three sofas and an extensive 12-seat bar where guests can catch the latest sporting event via eight large flat-screen TVs. Adjacent to the indoor dining area is a dedicated laid-back lounge, featuring a pool table and vintage arcade games such as Pac-Man and Space Invaders. Guests can also partake in foosball matches on the 1,500-square-foot outdoor patio, perfect for an alfresco dining experience under ambient string lights. The Canvas Bar provides the perfect backdrop to celebrate any special occasion with a variety of party packages for social gatherings.”

The Canvas Bar’s menu promises an assortment of indulgent global comfort classics. From savory starters, to juicy burgers and sandwiches, crisp salads, authentic Roman-style flatbreads (known as Pinsas) and more, each dish delivers a taste of delicious flavor-forward nostalgia. Standout starters include the Pulled Pork Bao Buns ($12), served with a hot honey sauce; and the Fried Mozzarella Pearls ($9), topped with marinara sauce. Perfect for guests to eat while they play, the menu features a variety of handheld sandwiches and burger options, with delectable staples such as the Angus Burger ($16), with lettuce, tomato, bacon, caramelized onions, cheddar cheese and gochujang sauce; and the name-sake Canvas Breaded Chicken Sandwich ($14), topped with a ricotta-basil aioli, crispy parmesan chips and marinara sauce. The Pinsas, or Roman-style flatbreads, offer guests a slice of shareable heaven with options such as the Truffle Mushroom Ricotta ($18), topped with truffle mushrooms and ricotta cheese; and Prosciutto ($20), featuring Prosciutto di Parma. The Fork & Knife section of the menu boasts signature plates, such as the Baby Back Ribs ($20 half rack, $29 full rack), complete with barbecue sauce and homemade wedge fries; and Homemade Lasagna Bolognese ($15), served with a bechamel sauce.
The hang-out haven features a wide selection of signature and classic cocktails, brews, wines and non-alcoholic beverages. Signature $12 sips include the Limoncello Margarita, featuring Don Julio Tequila, Limoncello, basil and crushed Lemon Heads; Pistachio Key Lime Martini, made with Grey Goose Vodka, Amaretto Di Saronno white, pistachio cream and lime. Thirst-quenching spritz options are also available for $10, such as the Camperol Veneto, made with Campari, Aperol, Prosecco, orange wheel and olives; and the Ciao Bella, made with gin, Italicus, prosecco, lemon and basil. Guests with a palette for classic cocktails are encouraged to choose from options such as the Clover Club, made with gin, egg white, fresh lime juice and raspberry puree; and the Mojito Passion, featuring Bacardi Rum, mint, lime, passion fruit and soda water.
When cavorting at The Canvas Bar comes to a close, guests can take the party to The Kaona Room, a “speaky-tiki” (modern-day speakeasy with a twist) nestled behind a secret door. Capitalizing on the tiki cultural craze that began in the 1930s, guests at The Kaona Room are transported to a one-of-a-kind Polynesian paradise complete with a creative cocktail menu boasting exotic mixed-drinks and rum flights, alongside island-inspired food and desserts. The hidden retreat serves as a passport to the Pacific and evokes a sense of escape with swanky jazz tunes and tiki tchotchke design. Intimate by design, the space accommodates just 45 patrons, ensuring a charming dining option for parties and corporate events.
