The Taco Stand, the Southern California Mexican concept owned by Shōwa Hospitality and known for their authentic taqueria experience, has expanded with its second location on the East Coast in Little Havana’s Calle Ocho. With its first Miami location opening in Wynwood in 2016 and additional locations Downtown San Diego, La Jolla, Dallas, Las Vegas, and more, the Tijuana-inspired taco stand is now open to the public serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner at 2063 SW 8th Street, Miami, FL 33135. The 2,000-square-foot restaurant features 50 seats and serves Tijuana-inspired fare, transporting guests to the south-of-the-border.

Shōwa Hospitality is known for its extensive lineup of restaurants, hotels, and bars all over the country. Based in San Diego and founded by Julian Hakim and Aram Baloyan, the hospitality group strives to provide exceptional service, design, and a commitment to quality in all of their concepts. The majority of their restaurants pay homage to the Japanese omakase form of dining, with one of their most prominent concepts being Hiden Miami. The Michelin-starred restaurant is hidden in Wynwood with the entrance in the form of a speakeasy and located in the back of The Taco Stand. The eight-seat fine dining experience is presented through a seasonal tasting menu featuring the freshest ingredients flown in from Japan.

“We are excited to bring The Taco Stand’s authentic taqueria experience to Miami’s Calle Ocho,” said Julian Hakim, owner of The Taco Stand. “Now with our second location in Little Havana, we have taken the first step in our plans to bring The Taco Stand to other neighborhoods and share our bold, Tijuana-inspired flavors.”

Since its opening in La Jolla, California in 2013, The Taco Stand has grown its national presence with their authentic Mexican cuisine that thrives on being “Hecho A Mano” (made by hand). The experience – inspired by owners Julian Hakim and Aram Baloyan’s upbringing in Tijuana – features handmade corn tortillas, the highest grade meats, and the freshest ingredients to craft their popular guacamole and salsas that are made from scratch daily. Alongside their mouth-watering tacos, burritos and quesadillas, the restaurant offers a variety of Mexican-flavored popsicles/paletas, refreshments, imported beer and freshly-prepared Rosarito-style churros for diners to indulge in – whether they choose to dine in or take-out.

The Taco Stand offers something delectable for all taste preferences from breakfast menu items like their Pollo Ranchero – featuring chicken, rice, refried beans, white onions, cilantro, avocado, and a decadent salsa ranchera; to standout items including the Mar y Tierra Fries – featuring grilled shrimp with flamed grilled angus steak, fries, guacamole, sour cream and topped with cheese. Their notable menu staples include their Carne Asada tacos, Al Pastor Burritos, and the Pollo Quesadilla. For their full menu, please visit here.

The Taco Stand will be open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. and Friday to Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 a.m. For more information, please visit www.letstaco.com or @letsataco_ on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter.
