Sushi | Bar Miami Beach, renowned for its innovative approach to the traditional Japanese omakase experience, announces today a special collaboration with Miami-based abstract painter and mixed media artist Sara Schroeder during one of the most anticipated happenings of the year locally, Miami Art Week. From December 4 through December 10, guests who dine at Sushi | Bar, which is nestled within the lower level of the Esmé Hotel Miami Beach on Española Way, can indulge in a limited-time creative interpretation of one of Sushi | Bar’s existing dessert offerings, representing a deconstructed amalgamation of both the artist’s style and the restaurant’s culinary ethos.

Sushi | Bar’s commitment to vibrant flavors and textures finds a parallel in Schroeder’s emotive and vivid pieces. The collaborative dessert is inspired by Schroeder’s artwork titled “Pulp and Panel Poesie no. 84” and is made up of a kaleidoscope of equally tempting and colorful ingredients including Aubi & Ramsa Signature Sushi | Bar Ice Cream, Dulce de Leche Sponge Cake, Dulce de Leche Cracker, Strawberry Coulis, Toasted Coconut, Coconut Meringue, Matcha Mushroom Salt, Meyer Lemon Emulsion, Edible Flowers, and Fresh Strawberries.

Additionally, guests will receive a limited edition print of “Pulp and Panel Poesie no. 84” numbered and signed by Schroeder as part of the special welcome note signed by the Sushi | Bar team. “Pulp and Panel Poesie no. 84” is part of a series of over 100 10″x 10 mixed media artworks mounted on cradled wood panels. This series was the central feature of Schroeder’s solo show, “From Here to There,” in 2022 at Club Gallery, Miami. Her artwork will also be on display and available for purchase at the restaurant, with 30 percent of the sales during December 4-10 including website purchases to be donated to Feeding South Florida, a local organization whose mission is to end hunger in South Florida by providing immediate access to nutritious food, leading hunger and poverty advocacy efforts and transforming lives through innovative programming and education. The cause is one close to Schroeder’s heart, as food insecurity continues to be a pressing issue across the state and country.

“We are always looking for ways to enhance the dining experience for our guests. Collaborating with artist Sara Schroeder allows us to merge the visual and culinary arts in a way that is unique and exciting. Her artwork captures the essence of our dishes in an extraordinary way,” says Sam Attia, General Manager of Sushi | Bar Miami Beach.

Schroeder also expresses her excitement at the collaboration. “As an artist, finding new mediums and canvases is always a delight. Working with Sushi | Bar has been a fantastic journey in translating my art into a culinary experience. ‘Pulp and Panel Poesie no. 84’ is one of my favorites from the series, and seeing it inspire such a beautiful dessert feels truly gratifying.”

Every location of Sushi | Bar is designed to transport diners to traditional Japanese sushi bars found in the 1930s with a sexy, mysterious allure that fades into a friendly, intimate experience between chef and guest. Nightly diners are offered a selection of available drink pairings, including sake, cocktails, wine, and beer. Guests are encouraged to arrive 30-minutes before their selected seating and enjoy a welcome cocktail to ease their way into Chef’s playful reverie on nigiri and other delicacies.
