For the third straight year, InterContinental Miami will honor Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month during the entire month of April. This year’s nonprofit partner is the Dan Marino Foundation (DMF), which was founded in 1992 by Miami Dolphins NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Dan Marino and his wife Claire, after their son was diagnosed with Autism.

In honor of the symbolic blue that represents Autism Awareness and Acceptance Month, the hotel lobby will be lit up blue and Toro Toro, the Pan-Latin steakhouse located on the lobby level will offer a limited edition Blue La Bomba. A special version of the restaurant’s legendary interactive dessert, the Blue La Bomba, priced at $28, is a blue chocolate half sphere filled with cream cheese mousse, dulce de leche, strawberry ice cream, fresh berries, cookie crumbles and vanilla and berry sauce. The dessert can easily be shared by 2 or more people. A portion of proceeds from the month’s sales will benefit the Dan Marino Foundation.

Additionally, a reception in support of the Dan Marino Foundation will take place on Tuesday, April 2 from 6PM to 8PM and will include the lighting of the building interior, cocktails including a Blue Mule sponsored by Tito’s Vodka, small bites and entertainment. After a welcome from InterContinental Miami’s General Manager Glenn Sampert, DMF CEO Mary Partin and Executive Director of Business Development Steffen Lue will offer brief remarks. Limited tickets available to the public; attendance is free but RSVP is required and can be made – HERE
