The Moon Steakhouse & Piano Bar opens this Thursday, January 22nd in Wynwood, bringing a contemporary steakhouse experience with Italian influence, live piano, and vocal performances.
Located on the ground floor of Wynwood’s iconic Pink Building [2103 NW 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33127] — home to destinations such as Astra Rooftop and Omakai — The Moon Steakhouse & Piano Bar occupies a fully renovated space that has been completely gutted and reimagined. While the name element “The Moon” remains as a nod to the venue’s former theater-era identity, the restaurant is an entirely new concept and design.
The interior blends old-world lounge influences with Wynwood’s bold aesthetic, featuring jungle-inspired murals, leopard accents, and regal golden curtains. The design reflects the neighborhood’s reputation for immersive art while creating a warm, expressive setting for dinner and live performance.
The concept comes from IK Hospitality, the hospitality group behind Astra Rooftop and Sette Osteria in Washington, D.C. With The Moon Steakhouse & Piano Bar, the group brings a steakhouse format to Wynwood that balances elevated cuisine with live entertainment, offering an alternative to the area’s more casual or nightlife-only venues.
The menu centers on a focused selection of prime steaks, including classic cuts such as a cowboy steak, tomahawk ribeye, and filet mignon, alongside dry-aged options. The steakhouse foundation is balanced with contemporary Italian influences across the menu, reflected in lighter starters and pastas designed to complement the evening’s pacing. Dishes include cured salmon carpaccio with passionfruit, creamy burrata with pesto crème fraîche, as well as pasta classics like bucatini cacio e pepe, finished with aged Pecorino Romano and freshly cracked black pepper.
Live piano and vocal performances are central to the experience, with programming designed to spotlight both established and emerging local talent. The restaurant’s current resident pianist is Ari Renner, known for high-energy performances at venues such as Lafayette Miami and Savage Labs. Performances are intended to soundtrack the evening organically, enhancing the dining experience rather than overpowering it.
