After a successful sell out last week, raising $10,000 for the SOBEWFF® & FIU Chaplin School Hospitality Industry Relief Fund, Lee Brian Schrager’s Putting on the Pounds (LBS) Bake Sale is back and bigger than ever. This Sunday, May 3, in addition to Night Owl Cookies, Lee will be joined by special hosts Chef Eileen Andrade and foodie influencer Gio Gutierrez who will be adding classic Cuban snacks and beverages to the otherwise sweet treat event. The drive-by bake sale at Lee’s “House on Hardee” kicks off at noon and will be open until sold out. Follow Lee on Instagram @leeschrager for details and updates.

“We were surprised and overwhelmed by the incredible response last week and disappointed that we sold out so quickly,” commented SOBEWFF® Founder and Director, Lee Brian Schrager. “This week, we’ve significantly increased our quantities and selection to ensure there’s enough to satisfy our many supporters. I also want to say a special thanks to Pepe Badia of Badia Spices, who agreed to match the funds we raised last week, bringing the total proceeds of the bake sale to $20,000 to help our local restaurant relief fund.”

Chef Eileen Andrade, known for her eclectic twist on classic Cuban cuisine at Finka Table and Tap, will be offering a Cuban Sunday Survival Kit consisting of two Guava Pastelitos, two Beef Pastelitos, two Cheese Pastelitos, six Islas Canarias Ham Croquetas, and four Mini 1/2 Noches (Cuban Sandwich on Sweet Bread).

Gio Gutierrez, Havana Club Ambassador and founder of the popular Chat Chow TV™, will be serving up a premade Equelecua Cocktail Mixer, featuring Lime, Pineapple, Mandarine Napoléon, Cranberry Jam, New Orleans Bitters. When paired with Havana Club Blanco rum, the mixer creates a tart and sweet punch-style cocktail. The premade mixer creates enough for 10 cocktails.

And of course, Night Owl Cookies returns with their unique selection of assorted signature home-made cookies.

The Survival Kit, Cocktail Mix and Cookie Box will all sell for $25 each (cash and exact change only please). Additional donations for the Relief Fund will also be accepted. Guest appearances throughout the afternoon will include political commentator, Ana Navarro; local WSVN television personality, Belkys Nerey; NBC 6 reporter, Kelly Blanco; food and spirits editor of the Miami New Times, Laine Doss; and of course Lee’s four-legged family members, The Browns.
