What is Nu Deco Ensemble?
Nu Deco Ensemble is reimagining a fresh vision of what an orchestra can achieve in the 21st century. Created by two of classical music’s most in-demand artists, Jacomo Bairos and Sam Hyken, Nu Deco Ensemble is a flexible and innovative hybrid orchestra that celebrates living composers, reimagines all genres of music, and collaborates with a wide range of diverse musical guests, composers, choreographers, dancers, and mixed media artists.
What can you expect at a Nu Deco Ensemble show?
A Nu Deco Ensemble show’s program is never just one genre – you can expect to hear classical standards, living composers, Nu Deco original compositions, contemporary artists’ music reimagined, and so much more. The ensemble features standard orchestral instruments as well as electric guitars, bass, and a drum kit.
What is a reimagination?
Being an innovative hybrid orchestra means that we’re performing music that you know and love through an entirely new lens. From crowd-favorite suites such as OutKast, Pharrell, and Dr. Dre to our new Price, Grateful Dead, and Chaka Khan suites, we aim to honor the music of iconic singers, songwriters, composers, and bands.
