Miami Gardens

Miami Gardens is a stadium city. Hard Rock Stadium anchors it: home field for the Dolphins and the Hurricanes, host of the Orange Bowl, multiple Super Bowls, and F1's Miami Grand Prix, which turns the stadium's grounds into a street circuit once a year. Rolling Loud runs here too. Calder Casino & Race Course sits nearby for year-round horse racing and slots, and Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex covers the resident side of the neighborhood with a pool, basketball courts, and a fitness center. Incorporated in 2003 from a cluster of unincorporated neighborhoods west of I-95, Miami Gardens is inland, about 15 miles northwest of Downtown Miami, with no beach access of its own. Most visits are event-driven: a game day, a concert, a race weekend. Outside of a stadium date, it's a residential city with local shops and restaurants, not a destination stop on a typical Miami itinerary.

Miami Guide Take

Miami Gardens is Hard Rock Stadium's home turf, not a beach-day stop. The Dolphins, the Hurricanes, the Orange Bowl, and F1's Miami Grand Prix all run through here, and Calder Casino & Race Course backs it up with year-round gaming. Betty T. Ferguson Recreational Complex covers the resident side: pool, basketball courts, gym. Build your visit around an event date. Outside of one, there isn't much reason to detour here.
