In Miami, the best moves split by budget and effort — Clevelander or Aqua Bar & Grill for poolside and a simple order, Cantina La Veinte or Maple & Ash if the drink itself is the point, COYO Taco if you want tequila pricing without a reservation, and Tacombi Brickell for a one-night-only event (5–8 p.m., RSVP required). We skated through this year’s crop and kept only the ones worth a special trip — organized by what you’re actually in the mood for, not by neighborhood or price point. Poolside, don’t want to think

Clevelander — 1020 Ocean Dr, Miami Beach $15 margaritas all day on July 24. Going bigger: Patrón bottle service, Silver through El Alto, $300–$500. This is the no-plan plan — show up, sit by the pool, order.

Aqua Bar & Grill at The National Hotel — 1677 Collins Ave, Miami Beach Beachfront, day passes available if you’re not a guest. Skip the standard margarita menu and get the Palomita — Milagro, Grand Marnier, grapefruit soda, Tajín rim — ordered straight from the water.

Elevated, the drink is the point

Cantina La Veinte — 495 Brickell Ave, Brickell The deepest tequila list in Miami. Cadillac Margarita if you want top-shelf without the flex; Millionaire (Don Julio 1942) or Billionaire (Clase Azul Añejo) if you’re celebrating something specific. Saturdays bring Cantina Sessions — live music, later crowd.

Maple & Ash — Brickell The Inner Circle isn’t a margarita and isn’t trying to be: Reserva De La Familia Reposado, coffee-infused Carpano Antica, Campari, stirred and strained over one large cube. Order it if you want a steakhouse cocktail, because it is one.

GAIA Miami — Miami The Theo trades citrus-forward for herbaceous — olive oil-washed tequila, mastiha, basil, bergamot. The pick if you’re done with margarita variations for the day.

Unexpected, worth the trip on its own

Zoko Collective (Love Cat) — 728 NW 29th St, Wynwood The Synchronicity II — Tromba Blanco, guava, tomato, lime, agave — sounds like it shouldn’t work as a highball. It does. For someone who’s already hit the rest of this list.

Yamashiro Miami The Hikari No Maho: tequila, Nigori sake, citrus marmalade, coconut milk–washed butterfly pea flower, wasabi salt rim. Citrus, umami, floral, in that order.

Queen Miami Beach The Tokyo Rose: Don Julio Blanco, peach Calpico, yuzu, rose water, egg white foam, ginger ale. Closer to a sour than a margarita.

Amalia Restaurant — inside the Lennox Hotel, 1900 Collins Ave, Miami Beach Happy hour gets you the Spicy Watermelon Margarita — Sauza, watermelon, jalapeño, triple sec — next to the Lennox Burger and a charcuterie board. The pick if the food matters as much as the drink.

Quick, cheap, multiple locations

COYO Taco — locations citywide $5 Herradura Blanco shots all day on July 24, plus a $10 Frozen Watermelon Red Bull Margarita — Herradura Blanco, watermelon, Red Bull, blended. Order it with the street-style tacos on hand-pressed tortillas or the guacamole made to order. The pick if you want tequila pricing that doesn’t require a reservation or a neighborhood commitment — COYO has enough locations that one is probably near you.

One night only

Tacombi Brickell Friday, July 24, 5–8 p.m. A single event, not a standing special: the debut of a new Tuna Tostada, the unveiling of “The Tequila Garden,” tequila cocktails, aguas frescas, mocktails, and a live DJ. Complimentary signature cocktail with purchase of the Tuna Tostada. Open to the public, but it’s RSVP-based — reserve through Resy before showing up, since this isn’t a walk-in happy hour.

Cactus Club — Downtown Miami The Paloma Rosa — Cazadores Reposado, Aperol, grapefruit, lime, Tajín rim — is the crowd-pleaser if the rest of your group wants something familiar.

CATCH The Watermelon Smash: Casamigos Blanco, Campari, watermelon, basil, lemon. Order it for the color as much as the flavor — deep coral, and it photographs better than it needs to.

The bottom line

One hour: Cantina La Veinte or Clevelander. A full evening: start at Amalia for food, end at Upside or Zoko Collective for the room. Everything else here is worth its own separate night — you don’t need all twelve on one Friday.

We revisit this page every June, drop specials that didn’t return, and add whatever’s new that year. Venues don’t pay to be included and dropping off isn’t a demotion — it means something better showed up. Same rule as everything else we publish.
