Miami’s Wynwood neighborhood, known for its vibrant art scene and eclectic mix of eateries, is set to welcome an extraordinary new addition with the opening of La Ferneteria Rooftop Bar & Eatery, an Italian concept hailing from Buenos Aires, Argentina. La Ferneteria boasts a growing international footprint, with two locations in Buenos Aires, one in Asunción, Paraguay, and now its newest destination in Miami. This Italian rooftop restaurant will officially open its doors on Dec. 4, offering Miami residents and visitors a gastronomic journey through Italy’s northern and southern parts.
“We are thrilled to introduce La Ferneteria to Miami,” said Diego Diaz Varela, owner of La Ferneteria. “Our goal is to provide an unforgettable dining experience that blends the authenticity of classic Italian cuisine with Miami’s vibrant flair. From unique table-side presentations to large-format plating perfect for sharing with big groups, we aim to create a welcoming and festive atmosphere. Wynwood is the perfect location for our restaurant, as it embodies the spirit of innovation and artistry that we cherish.”
At the expansive 7,000 square-foot, 180-seat outdoor haven, located on the 9th floor and accessible via a private elevator, guests can expect an extensive menu curated by Executive Chef Javier Gonzalez. This diverse array of Italian classics features everything from handmade La Monferrina pasta to impressive table-side dishes such as a ten-layer lasagna, all crafted with the finest ingredients sourced from Italy and local markets. Signature dishes include Fettuccine al Tartufo Nero, Tagliolini Frutti di Mare, Pesce Alla Sale, and NY Steak “Au Poivre”.
La Ferneteria combines contemporary design with inspiration from the Roman Empire. This influence is evident in the textures of stone, the colors of the landscape, and the architectural details. The space is further enhanced by modern Italian design elements, including opulent gold accents, velvety fabrics, and exotic marbles. As guests step out of the elevators, they are welcomed by a stunning bar display stocked with an array of premium spirits. Near the hostess stand, a mural created specifically for the Miami location features a romantic and sensual scene from ancient Rome, showcasing two lovers enjoying a banquet amid fruit trees and flowers. The rooftop is surrounded by dense, lush vegetation, with statues elegantly positioned among the plants, echoing the charm of imperial gardens.
At the heart of the restaurant is a lavish 20-seat marble bar, offering a sophisticated cocktail menu and an extensive wine list. Guests can savor signature cocktails like the Miami Goddess or Piazza Navona while enjoying breathtaking views of the mesmerizing Miami skyline. The venue also features a speakeasy lounge that can accommodate up to 50 guests, as well as a private dining area for 15, making it ideal for intimate gatherings and celebrations.
A vibrant cornerstone of La Ferneteria will be its dynamic DJ lineup, featuring both local talent and globally recognized DJs. Operating hours for La Ferneteria are Wednesday and Sunday, from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m., Thursday from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m., and Friday and Saturday 4 p.m. to 3 a.m. La Ferneteria will also offer a weekend brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m, set to debut on December 7.
