An adults-only evening powered by the forces that shape our world is sweeping into Downtown Miami on Thursday, April 2. Inspired by the raw power of wind, waves, motion and atmospheric energy, nightLAB: Forces of Nature promises an immersive after-hours experience at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science (Frost Science).
During nightLAB, the museum shifts into overdrive. From 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., guests ages 21 and up can roam the museum’s spaces as science surges to life through explosive experiments, interactive pop-ups and immersive programming designed to stir your curiosity and shake up your typical night out.
Local partners including clubs and researchers from Florida International University will bring the theme down to Earth with earthquake shake tables, extreme weather demos and real-world insights into sea level rise and groundwater in Miami. Guests can also catch archival weather footage presented by the Special Collections & Archives Division of the Miami-Dade Public Library System and connect on-site to tap into free local programming across the county.
Inside the Frost Planetarium, prepare for a cosmic storm chase with Wildest Weather in Our Solar System, produced by National Geographic. Beneath the 67-foot dome, you’ll witness alien lightning, planet-spanning hurricanes and extreme atmospheric forces that make Earth’s wildest weather look tame.
Throughout the evening, connect with community partners, wander through Frost Science’s exhibitions and experience the museum in a completely new element.
