Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau Welcomes New Restaurants and Sponsors to 13-Year-Old Dining Program that Attracts Food Lovers Far and Near

The organizers of the 13th Annual Miami Spice Restaurant Program, theGreater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB), today announced the return of exclusive dining deals on three-course lunch and dinner menus at more than 170 area restaurants, including45 new participants, from Aug. 1 to Sept. 30, 2014.  This year, the program introduces the newMiami Spice Mash-Ups, a culinary celebration of Miami’s diverse food scene.

The Miami Spice program kicks off August 1 with dining deals that include lunch priced at $23 per person and dinner priced at $39 per person. Prices include an appetizer, entrée and dessert, and exclude alcohol, tax, tip and service charges.

In an exciting first for the program, a series of exclusive Miami Spice Mash-Up dinners kicked off in June, with the final event planned in September. These curated collaborations, hosted by some of the area’s best-known chefs, offer an intimate and interactive experience.

“After 13 years of bringing locals and visitors affordable fine-dining, the Miami Spice program has evolved into a culinary movement celebrating the best in Miami’s food scene, “ said William D. Talbert III, CDME, president and CEO of the GMCVB. “This year we pay homage to our rich heritage and eclectic food by creating The Miami Spice Mash-Ups.  These unique dining experiences feature chef collaborations bringing together diverse culinary styles and flavors into one dining experience.”

Browsing restaurants and making reservations is a piece of cake at www.ilovemiamispice.com, which features a complete list of participating venues, menus and scheduled events.  The Miami Spice website offers photos of restaurants and featured dishes, with search functions for cuisine type, area/neighborhood, lunch/dinner and more.

This year, Miami Spice fans have the opportunity to win special prices through a social media promotion by posting and sharing photos of Miami Spice meals on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter using #MiamiSpice.   Foodies will have the chance to win one of eight weekly $100 prepaid gift cards or the grand prize of a hotel stay and VIP dining experience when posting their Miami Spice meal photos.
