For a taste of Miami’s Cuban influence, head to Little Havana. This culturally rich neighborhood is brimming with Latin flavors, vibrant music, and authentic cuisine. On 305 Day, join the locals in Calle Ocho for a salsa dance party, indulge in some delicious Cuban coffee, and savor mouthwatering bites from the local eateries.

 

Get Roasted and Toasted at Michael’s Genuine

Two Miami pioneers are brewing up something special for the 305. Since 2016, Design District’s dining institution Michael’s Genuine has been serving a specialty roast made specifically for them by artisanal,coffee company, Panther Coffee. The Genuine Roast has been available to consume at both Michael’s Genuine and Amara at Paraiso (and showcased in their Espresso Martinis) but, starting March 5th, genuine diners and coffee lovers alike will be able to purchase the Genuine Roast at Michael’s Genuine. Head Roaster and Co-Founder of Panther Coffee, Joel Pollock worked alongside James Beard Award Winning Chef Michael Scwhartz to create a roast profile distinctly different from any other coffee aiming to emphasize the body with a syrupy sweetness and notes of dense dark chocolate while featuring little to no acidity. The tasting notes include a hint of dark chocolate, nuttiness with a creamy mellow and balanced fish.

To celebrate ths partnership, Panther Coffee will be setting up their mobile coffee cart in their outdoor courtyard pouring a complimentary taste of the Genuine Roast drip coffee and a miniature Horchata Carajillo featuring the Genuine Roast espresso from 11:30 a.m.- 3:05 p.m.

On March 5th, coffee enthusiasts can take advantage of the following menu items that also feature the specialty roast (for lunch and dinner) including:
  • Horchata Carajillo – rum, Genuine Roast espresso, licor 43 and homemade horchata ($16)
  • Horchata Iced Coffee – Genuine Roast drip coffee mixed with homemade horchata ($7)
  • Opera Cake by Pastry Chef Marlena Bella featuring layers of sponge cake soaked in coffee and almond, coffee butter cream and rich chocolate ganache topped with strawberry condensed milk anglaise ($14)

The free event will bring together some of Miami’s top comedians, including Paula Barros, Carlos Hernandez, and Kyle Grooms, for a night of belly-aching laughs, tasty craft brews, and that unmatched 305 energy. Guests can also expect to enjoy exclusive samples and goodies, including must-have suncare products from Vacation Brand—because what’s more Miami than sun, beer, and comedy?
