Higher Ground, the indoor-outdoor urban park encompassing the third floor of Arlo Wynwood, the first-ever hotel in Wynwood, is heightening its vibrant courtyard bar and lounge with a lunch menu, extended operating hours and engaging activations for guests and locals to enjoy. The picturesque hangout spot conceptualized by Bar Lab is making “Let’s do drinks” feel fresh again, serving as an approachable respite from bustling Wynwood below.
Opened in the winter of 2022, Higher Ground was introduced as an elevated cocktail bar and lounge. While the vibey destination maintains its artistry and mastery of handcrafted cocktails, helmed by Bar Lab’s award winning beverage director, Christine Wisemen, the venue has raised its offerings and experience with lunchtime and evening eats, extended happy hour, and pop-up evening gatherings.
“We are delighted to bring Higher Ground’s new offerings to the community, inviting locals and guests to discover the hidden oasis in the heart of Wynwood,” said Jonathan Hernandez, director of food and beverage. “We’re no longer just a cocktail destination but a vibrant urban getaway for lunch breaks, wellness events, evening programming and more. We wanted to create a space where people can come together, enjoy a delicious meal and immerse themselves in the ambiance. With the renowned Bar Lab team behind the scenes, guests can expect nothing short of an incredible time.”
Higher Ground’s incomparable cocktail program is branching out to feature approachable food menu broken into four categories: light bites, stone-oven pizzas, handhelds and parfaits. Light bites include Charred Sweet Corn ($7), with queso fresco, Tajin spice and Japanese mayo, and Smashed Cucumbers ($6), with a ginger-lime marinade and chili crisps. The stone-oven pizzas feature two classics: Margherita ($15), topped with pomodoro, mozzarella and basil, and Pepperoni ($15), with pomodoro, mozzarella and chili flakes. Guests looking for handhelds can enjoy the HG Classic Burger ($16), a natural beef patty with lettuce, tomato and onion on a brioche bun; Garden Burger ($16), an Impossible patty with red onion, shaved cucumber, tzatziki and chili pepper relish on a brioche bun; and Pollito ($16), marinated chicken breast with grilled jalapeño spread, peppercorn bacon, lettuce and red onion on a brioche bun. Desserts include two parfaits: Key Lime Pie ($7) and Spiced Carrot Cake ($7).
Higher Ground offers local beers and wines on tap while maintaining its artisanal cocktail menu. Signature favorites include the refreshing Above The Canopy ($15), made with Ketel One Cucumber & Mint, Lustau Vermut Blanco and St-Germain combined with lime, fresh aloe and eucalyptus essence and topped with cucumber soda; Lush Life ($15), made with Palo Santo infused Altos Blanco, Chinola, li hing mui and lime juice and rimmed with black lava salt; and Inca Orchid ($15), made with Patrón Blanco and pisco shaken with house-made chicha morada.
