August's list has two speeds: brand new and about to disappear.
August in Miami means Spice deals stacked across half this list, but what pulled me together this month is the contrast — brand new against about-to-disappear. Zoko and Eos Garden just opened. Nikki Beach is in its final season on the sand. In between: Giralda Plaza's flower canopy at golden hour, Cauley Square if you've never made the drive south, and the Spice menus worth the trip at Toro Toro and Zaytinya. CORAL GABLES
Coral Gables has hung a rotating art installation over this pedestrian block since 2018 — this round is Giralda in Bloom, a canopy of floral umbrellas, up through October. Go at five, not noon, or you're shooting into glare.
Cauley Square
GOULDS · SOUTH DADE
Miami's default setting is new. Cauley Square is the opposite — a 10-acre railroad village from 1903 that survived a demolition order, Andrew, and 120 years of the city rebuilding itself around it. Free to walk, 35 minutes south, and you will stay longer than you planned.
Zoko Collective

For the group that can't agree on one place, Zoko settles it — six kitchens under one indoor-outdoor roof just west of Wynwood, so everyone orders separately and meets at the same table. Go early if you want a seat outside; the courtyard fills by 8.
Eos Garden
MiMo
Eos Garden took the old Bay Shore Water Pump House — one of the last coral rock structures left in Miami — and turned it into a Mediterranean dinner house. The building is the reason to go; the octopus is the reason to stay.
ViceVersa
Downtown
ViceVersa just took Best U.S. Hotel Bar at the 2026 Spirited Awards, and the Elser lobby setting undersells it — this is an Italian aperitivo bar doing the real thing, not a hotel bar with a spritz on the menu. Get the Negroni Sbagliato and sit at the counter, not a table.
Magie Wine Bar
Coconut Grove
A neighborhood wine bar where you pour the wine and the night unfolds naturally. You browse the bottles yourself, pick what catches your eye, and the team pours your glass. If you find something you love, take the bottle home.
Zaytinya South Beach
South Beach
Zaytinya's South Beach outpost is carrying two decades of DC reputation, and for Spice it's actually worth it — a 4-course dinner built around José Andrés' mezze rather than one entrée dressed up to hit the price point. Order the hummus and the lamb kofta, split everything.
Yamashiro Miami
Downtown
Yamashiro Miami is still the move for dinner at the Gale Downtown, now with a late-night add-on. 400 Vinyl Room just opened next door: a 50-seat listening lounge built around vinyl, spirit-forward cocktails, and a caviar service. Named for the original 400 Club at Yamashiro Hollywood, the sound program runs funk, soul, disco, and '80s Latin with guest DJs and themed nights. Go for dinner, stay or come back for the record collection.
The Mexican
Brickell
Dallas’s most-photographed dining room got a Miami sibling, and the Brickell Key waterfront suits it better than the original setting did. Come for the Northern Mexican side of the menu — barbacoa de arrachera, ribeye aguachile — and sit on the lower terrace, which drops you almost to the water.
Toro Toro

Richard Sandoval's Pan-Latin steakhouse inside the InterContinental is the Sunday move — brunch runs with a DJ, and through September the $65 Miami Spice menu stacks right on top of it: Nikkei tuna ceviche, beef tenderloin over truffle risotto, dulce de leche éclair. Go on a Sunday and you get brunch energy at Spice pricing.
Superblue Miami

August in Miami means a 3pm thunderstorm most days — Superblue is where that becomes a feature, not a delay. Step inside instead of waiting it out, and give it a full afternoon; the immersive rooms reward moving slowly, not rushing the loop.

Miami Beach
Still the benchmark for Miami's classic beach club: beachfront tables, DJs running afternoon into sunset, bottle service, a crowd in no rush to leave. With its final season now underway before the 2027 closure, there's never been a better time to catch one of South Beach's defining spots while it's still on the waterfront.
