Starting June 6 through August 9, Frost Science stays open daily until 6pm. That’s an extra hour-plus to actually get through the aquarium, planetarium, and whatever special exhibit has the longest line that week. If you’ve been putting off a visit because the place always closes too early, that excuse is gone.
Active-duty military, National Guard, and Reserve members get in free with their families through September 7 as part of the Blue Star Museums program — just bring ID to the Ticket Center.
Extreme Sports: Beyond Human Limits is the exhibit to build a visit around
Step into a world of adrenaline and achievement with Extreme Sports: Beyond Human Limits. This highly interactive special exhibition, now open at the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science, offers an immersive exploration of the science, psychology, and technology behind some of the world’s most daring athletic pursuits. Guests can dive into extreme sports through hands-on challenges, multimedia experiences, and inspiring stories from real athletes who push the boundaries of human potential. Highlights include interactive stations that test strength, balance, and reaction time, as well as deep dives into the physics, biology, and mental resilience required for activities like wingsuit flying, rock climbing, parkour, and freediving.
The exhibition also features Science of Soccer, an interactive experience connecting the world’s most popular sport to the science of motion, energy, and human performance, as Miami prepares to host matches during the FIFA World Cup 2026™.
Through a fusion of science, sport, and immersive storytelling, Extreme Sports: Beyond Human Limits reveals how athletes train to evaluate risk, adapt to unpredictable environments, and maintain focus under pressure. The exhibition also showcases the researchers, innovators, and rescue teams who support extreme performance, while challenging common misconceptions about these high-intensity pursuits.
Extreme Sports: Beyond Human Limits is on view now through Monday, September 7, 2026, inside the Hsiao Family Special Exhibition Gallery on the museum’s first floor. Admission to Extreme Sports: Beyond Human Limits is included with all museum admission tickets.
Score Savings ties three Downtown institutions together
This summer, three of Downtown Miami’s leading cultural institutions have teamed up to celebrate the global spirit of sport with a citywide “Score Savings” collaboration. Now through June 30, guests who visit Frost Science, Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM), or Miami Dade College’s National Historic Landmark Freedom Tower can unlock exclusive admission discounts at the other participating institutions within three days of their initial visit.
The partnership invites visitors to experience sport through multiple lenses, science, art, and cultural history, during a season when Miami takes center stage for major international sporting events, including FIFA World Cup 2026™ matches. At Frost Science, guests can explore the newly debuted immersive exhibit, Extreme Sports: Beyond Human Limits. Meanwhile, the Freedom Tower presents FIFA Museum’s Unidad: The World’s Game, exploring soccer’s global impact through historic artifacts and immersive installations, while PAMM’s Get in the Game: Sports, Art, Culture examines the intersection of athletics, identity, and artistic expression.
Visitors who present a valid ticket or receipt from one participating institution can receive $5 off general admission at Frost Science and $2 off admission at both PAMM and the Freedom Tower. The offer is redeemable in person only during regular public operating hours.
America250 is showing up everywhere this summer
A new poster exhibit covers 250 figures in American innovation, there’s an interactive passport with a Science Store prize at the end, and a new planetarium short — narrated by Mayor Daniella Levine Cava — covers marine science, paleontology, astronomy, and flight. It debuted June 6 for World Ocean Day and runs daily now.
Camp season is in full swing
If you’re a Miami parent scrambling for summer coverage, Frost’s camp calendar runs nearly every week through early July, split between the museum itself and Ron Ehmann Park in South Dade (the Camp Curiosity series, run with Miami-Dade Parks):
- Robo Academy — VEX GO robots, Sphero, Micro:bit coding. Museum: June 22-26. Park: already wrapped June 15-18.
- Astro Engineers — Mars rovers, space landers, rocket propulsion. Museum: June 29-July 2.
- Chemical Connections — hands-on chemistry tied into the Extreme Sports exhibit’s biochemistry angle. Park: June 29-July 2.
- Reef to Deep — aquarium-based marine biology deep dive. Park: June 22-26.
Camp Curiosity registrations include a field trip back to the museum, so kids get both the park-based week and a Frost Science day out of it.
For the serious junior paleontologists: Digging Expedition is a week-long fossil dig in Montana, June 14-20, working real excavation sites alongside Frost’s science team. It’s $2,500 and it’s the kind of thing that turns into a kid’s whole personality for a year.
