Fontainebleau Miami Beach, the iconic luxury resort destination situated on 20 oceanfront acres in the heart of Miami Beach, has partnered with Michelin-starred Chef Michael White to bring authentic coastal Italian cuisine to the property with the debut of Mirabella. Opening October 24, 2023, the restaurant will be Fontainebleau Miami Beach’s latest addition to its growing world-class dining portfolio. Located at the base of the Sorrento Tower, Mirabella is instantly defined by its glamourous David Collins Studio design, beautifully blending Chef White’s passion for fresh coastal Italian flavors with traditional dishes that pay homage to Italy’s rich culinary heritage, offering guests a memorable dining experience that captures the essence of both land and sea.
“Mirabella is both a celebration of Italian cuisine and a reflection of my own culinary journey, which began 25 years ago during a transformative period for Italian cooking in the United States,” explains Chef White. “Opening Mirabella at Fontainebleau Miami Beach presents an exciting opportunity for us to transport our guests to the captivating coastal regions of Italy, while providing a unique and vibrant culinary experience.”
Mirabella’s menu will be a testament to the culinary artistry of Chef White, under the expert guidance of Executive Chef Paul Keyser. Dishes have been thoughtfully designed for sharing, featuring generous, family style portions to ignite conversation and appetites. Menu highlights will include bone-in veal parmigiana, risotto di mare, and a bountiful seafood program that includes crudo misto, tuna tartare, grilled octopus, and much more. Mirabella’s signature cocktail list will highlight fresh, mouthwatering ingredients, as well as Spritz selections, and a gin experience. The wine selection, curated by Fontainebleau Miami Beach Director of Beverage Gary Evangelista, brims with coveted European gems that promise a truly exceptional pairing experience.
Mirabella’s design captures both the essence of coastal Italy and the vibrant energy of Miami Beach. The dining room boasts custom furniture with scarlet red and lapis blue lacquer, embossed leather upholstery, and intricate brass detailing. Hand-painted Dedar fabric, featuring an abstract palm tree print, adds a touch of Florida’s lush flora, while South African artist Lucie De Moyencourt’s hand-painted ceramic shells adorn the back wall. The pink hued Lilypad chandelier by Lara Gonzalez and the existing architectural elements create an inviting, and charming, ambiance. The rear dining terrace offers expansive oceanfront views, where a vibrant yellow and white striped canopy complements the terracotta-colored trellising. Serena & Lily’s woven rattan shades, Sika Design’s outdoor furniture, and blue and white woven wool rugs by Merida Studio underfoot create a cozy al fresco space. Inside, the bar features a captivating mosaic design and an inviting atmosphere with café curtains in ombre off-white and pale-yellow sheer fabric from Dedar.
“Having worked with Michael in the past and followed his illustrious career for over 20 years, I can say with confidence that what he will bring to Mirabella and Fontainebleau Miami Beach will be an unwavering commitment to quality,” states Bryan O’Shields, Executive Vice President of Food & Beverage for Fontainebleau Development. “Michael has an old-school approach to being a chef and restaurateur, he likes to visit with tables and focus on his craft, it is not about fame or notoriety for him, even though he has certainly earned both.”
“We are thrilled to unveil Mirabella at Fontainebleau Miami Beach, a restaurant that harmoniously embodies the vibrant essence of our beachfront location,” states Phil Goldfarb, Chief Operating Officer of Fontainebleau Development. “Working closely with renowned Chef Michael White and the creative minds at David Collins Studio, we’ve curated an exquisite dining experience that marries the natural beauty of our surroundings with the relaxed glamour of coastal Italian dining.”
Mirabella will be open for dinner Tuesday through Thursday 6 p.m. through 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday 6 p.m. through 11 p.m., Sunday 6 p.m. through 10 p.m., and will be closed on Mondays.
