InterContinental Miami is celebrating October with festivities, flavor and fun with exciting experiences for hotel guests and locals throughout the month. The iconic downtown hotel is bringing the heat this Fall as Hispanic Heritage Month festivities continue, ranging from a weekly Art Residency featuring Celia Cruz, to the fourth annual Salsa Festival hosted by Salsa Lovers. At the award-winning Pan-Latin steakhouse Toro Toro, guests can embark on a culinary journey with celebrity Chef Richard Sandoval’s immersive Día de los Muertos culinary campaign. October also offers the opportunity to ‘think pink’ in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month with an indulgent Pink La Bomba at Toro Toro and a special edition of Pink Power Yoga on SkyLawn.

Hispanic Heritage Month Celebrations
Noche de Arte Exhibition Honoring Celia Cruz’s Centennial
On Monday, October 6, and every Monday in October thereafter from 6PM to 8PM, Noche de Arte will continue its weekly art residency with a special lineup of activations and celebrations at Gallery 100, in partnership with the MIAMI Shoe Museum.
Dancing Shoes: A Legacy in Motion, a very special exhibition that celebrates the centennial of legendary Latina icon Celia Cruz. The exhibition will also feature the debut of the five winning designs from MIAMI Vibes 2.0: AI Footwear Design Challenge. The visionary creations of the winning designers Franziska Valerie Hagenauer, Sara Alimohammadi, Amaranta Martinez, Wildy Martinez, Lucia Rabey, and Jessica de Vreeze will be showcased alongside Cruz’s original pieces.
Monday, October 6 marks opening night, where artists Amaranta Martinez (aka Superama), Wildy Martinez, Lucia Rabey and Jessica de Vreeze, along with curator Luis Valenzuela, will host a special event to welcome and inspire all guests to recreate the iconic Celia Cruz cantilever-style shoes. On Monday, October 20, guests are welcome to attend a special celebration in honor of Cruz’s Centennial 100th Birthday (officially October 21), featuring a large birthday cake and a collaborative “birthday card” crafted by guests using art materials. On Monday, October 27, Amaranta Martinez and Wildy Martinez will create live works inspired by Celia Cruz. Guests will also be invited to take part in the Dancing Shoes art activation, where they can share their own stories by decorating shoe-shaped cutout cards. Fourth Annual Salsa Festival
Grab your dancing shoes and get ready for an unforgettable weekend filled with non-stop salsa dancing and entertainment at InterContinental Miami’s Fourth Annual Salsa Festival hosted by International Salsa Dancers. Beginning Friday, October 3rd through Sunday, October 5th, the two-day soiree sizzles with dance workshops, pool parties (Friday & Saturday) and Miami’s hottest Salsa Dance Party hosted by Salsa Lovers and exclusive concerts headlined by Nic N’Taya (Friday), Harold Montañez (Saturday) and David Lucca Y Los Clásicos (Saturday).

RSH Global Culinary Campaign – Día de los Muertos
This Fall, internationally renowned chef Richard Sandoval is once again bringing his immersive Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) culinary celebration to Toro Toro, Sandoval’s Pan-Latin steakhouse located at the InterContinental Miami. The month-long campaign – which kicks off on Wednesday, October 1st and runs through Monday, November 3rd – celebrates the rich traditions of Sandoval’s Mexican heritage through an unforgettable, multi-sensory experience that blurs the lines between the spirit world and physical realms, emphasizing the duality of life and death. As part of the campaign, Toro Toro will be featuring an exclusive, a la carte menu of culinary and cocktail selections, each with a cultural significance to the celebration. Specialty dishes on offer include Pozole De Langosta – lobster, pozole, hominy corn, guajillo chili, lime and radish ($54); Ofrenda De Cempasúchil – lamb tenderloin, creamy purple potato mash, roasted heirloom carrots, charred ashes, smoky chipotle hibiscus sauce and marigold ($57); and Calabaza En Tacha – slow-cooked candied squash, piloncillo pepita compote and cinnamon ice cream ($24). ICM Goes Pink
To commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month, InterContinental Miami will gleam pink all October long in support of BRCAStrong, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization aimed at supporting women who have been affected by breast cancer and gynecological cancers regardless of predisposition to a hereditary cancer. Financial support to routine monitoring or preventative surgery for Previvors, Thrivers, and Survivors throughout the journey towards health, positive self-image and inspired living.

Find Your Flow at Pink Power Yoga
On Tuesday, October 14, the InterContinental Miami partners with Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute and Miami’s favorite yoga personality, Papa Guru Nicolay Del Salto for a special one-of-a-kind yoga flow session on the hotel’s SkyLawn. Guests are encouraged to wear pink workout attire in support of the themed class, which also features an inspiring sound bowl healing session at the conclusion of the class. Stretch and commune with like-minded yogis for a great cause, while enjoying stunning views of Biscayne Bay. Session begins at 7PM. After class, guests are encouraged to stay and connect with others in the community.
