The Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science (Frost Science) invites you to dive into the fascinating world of technology and artificial intelligence during nightLAB: Beyond the Algorithm, a 21+ adults only evening celebrating the museum’s new interactive special exhibition, AI: More Than Human, on Thursday, July 17, from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.
nightLAB is Frost Science’s signature adults-only series designed for curious minds. During the event, guests will enjoy exclusive after-hours access to the museum, Aquarium, and Frost Planetarium, including the innovative AI: More Than Human special exhibition, curated and organized by the City of London’s Barbican Centre, which explores the evolution of artificial intelligence through immersive art installations, interactive experiences, and cutting-edge science.
The evening will feature expert talks and science activations from community partners, including Miami Dade College’s AI Center, Florida International University (FIU) Robotics and Digital Fabrication Lab, FilmGate Miami, and FIU’s Thirst for Science program, showcasing AI-powered robotics, mobile apps, and more.
Guests can also experience Look Over Here by MyFi Studio, a Miami-based artist duo and 2025 Ellies Creator Award recipients, co-founded by Aimee Rubensteen and Dr. Josh Eisenberg. Presented inside the Frost Planetarium, this immersive 360° audiovisual performance blends real-time computer systems and analog instruments. Their work offers a unique lens to conversations around machine learning, human creativity, and perception. From Miami to Tokyo to Seoul, MyFi Studio performs and shares their custom electronic instruments with the public on the internet and through programming in museums, film festivals, galleries, and clubs.
To toast the night, attendees can also enjoy light bites and drinks, including a signature cocktail, the AI-rita (a strawberry basil margarita with a tech twist), available for purchase.
“nightLAB transforms the museum into a space for discovery, connection, and play just for adults,” said Analisa Duran, Knight Sr. Director of Science Education at Frost Science. “During Beyond the Algorithm, they’ll be able to explore where science and creativity meet and rethink their relationship with the technology shaping our world.”
“We’re excited to perform inside the planetarium and even more excited for the audience to experience our video art and music in real time,” said Aimee Rubensteen of MyFi Studios. “After years of recording footage at Frost Science for MyFi Studio’s video art and instruments, it’s amazing to have the opportunity to create a new performance for the Frost Planetarium’s 16-million-color 8K visual system and surround sound.”
General admission tickets are $34.95 and include museum admission, all programming and activations, and entry to the Frost Planetarium performance. Guests must be 21 or older to attend. Advance rate tickets are available for purchase through July 13.
