Spicy Hospitality Group, founded by visionary art collector Andre Sakhai, entrepreneur Marc Lotenberg, and esteemed Chef James Taylor, is proud to announce the debut of The Joyce and The Window at The Joyce, two individual yet complementary dining experiences housed under one roof, opening this winter on historic Española Way in Miami Beach. These inaugural ventures for Spicy Hospitality promise to captivate Miami’s vibrant culinary scene with a distinctive blend of high art and masterful cuisine.

Helming the kitchens for both concepts, Chef James Taylor, a distinguished culinary talent trained at Le Cordon Bleu College in Chicago, brings a wealth of experience from his time at Michelin-starred establishments. He began his professional journey at Bavette’s Bar and Boeuf, a renowned steakhouse under Hogsalt Hospitality. His career advanced rapidly with a pivotal role as the opening Executive Sous Chef at Roister, a Michelin-star restaurant by The Alinea Group, where he led purchasing, training, and menu development. Later, he was promoted to Chef De Tournant at Alinea, Chicago’s prestigious three-Michelin-star restaurant, managing both back-of-house operations and maintaining elite dining standards.

The Window at The Joyce, which recently opened in December, serves as the go-to spot for classic American street fare. The Window’s menu includes a selection of burgers, fried fish sandwiches, chopped salads, chicken sandwiches, wings, milkshakes, and more. After three years focused on perfecting his burger recipe, Chef James Taylor brings a meticulous approach to crafting the ultimate burger. Made on a hot griddle, the burgers achieve a juicy, well-balanced flavor profile, with the cheese melting into the sauce to deliver a consistently delicious experience in every bite. Each ingredient has been carefully selected and refined to elevate this American classic, highlighting Taylor’s dedication to quality and flavor. The restaurant features a walk-up order window and a cozy patio section of outdoor dining tables for an intimate, alfresco experience

The Joyce, set to open January 10,, will be a modern restaurant meets speakeasy. The restaurant will emphasize high-quality ingredients and technique-driven cooking, delivering Miami diners a rare blend of culinary artistry and fine art, in an exclusive, sophisticated setting. Featuring a carefully curated menu that includes Caviar & Latkes, Two-Way Chicken, Local Snapper Fillet Sandwich, King Crab Scampi, and an internationally-sourced selection of steaks, alongside The Window at The Joyce’s famed burger, The Joyce brings bold flavors and technique-driven dishes to an intimate 45-seat setting. The cocktail program will be curated by a master mixologist in Japan; the wine program will feature a meticulously curated selection of over 100 labels, each personally selected by an esteemed Sommelier whose expertise has shaped some of Miami’s most distinguished wine programs.

The Joyce is meticulously designed to create a sophisticated yet inviting ambiance, where every detail contributes to a curated aesthetic. In the dining area, guests will find collectible furniture, including iconic dining chairs by renowned Italian architect Gio Ponti, celebrated for his fusion of innovation and timeless Italian craftsmanship. Meanwhile, the bar area features

sleek, modern bar stools by visionary designer Joe Colombo, known for his ergonomic, futuristic approach. Tastefully appointed and exuding the allure of a Prohibition-era speakeasy, The Joyce is tucked behind dark green drapery and custom walnut millwork. The dimly lit dining room, with carefully selected artwork and decor, offers a cozy, welcoming environment where locals and visitors alike can gather. Guests will enjoy a menu of American steakhouse classics, chilled seafood, and an inventive cocktail selection, creating a destination where artful design and culinary mastery come together in a truly immersive experience.

Adding to the allure, The Joyce will host a rotating curation of artwork from Andre Sakhai’s exceptional art collection, displaying works by icons like Picasso and Basquiat alongside covetable pieces by today’s most exciting emerging artists. A dedicated art collector and cultural patron, Sakhai envisioned The Joyce as a haven where art, design, and cuisine converge. Since moving to Miami in 2020, he has played a pivotal role in the city’s cultural landscape as a key patron and Trustee of the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami.

“With The Joyce and The Window at The Joyce, we’re bringing Miami Beach something rare: food of exceptional quality, crafted with high-caliber ingredients and meticulous technique, all at a price point that’s accessible,” says Andre Sakhai, co-founder of Spicy Hospitality Group. “We want to create spaces where locals and visitors alike can experience top-tier dining without the premium price tag, which is something that’s not often found in Miami Beach.”

“At The Window at The Joyce, we’ve taken classic American fare and elevated it with a dedication to quality and detail. After two and a half years perfecting the burger recipe, I’m excited to offer a burger that delivers rich, balanced flavors in every bite, from the hot griddle technique to the melt-in-your-mouth cheese,” says Chef James Taylor. “With The Joyce, we’re bringing the same meticulous approach to an upscale, Chicago-style steakhouse menu. This restaurant brings together my past experiences in my culinary career into this unique concept. Guests can see this first hand in the menu; from our King Crab Scampi to our carefully-curated steak menu—each dish is crafted to offer Miami Beach diners an unforgettable experience through bold, well-executed flavors.”
