Very few cities have such defined character, culture and artistic flair that they are instantly recognizable. Through architecture, fine art, entertainment, media and even apparel, Miami has an aesthetic of its own. And the Annual Coconut Grove Art Festival is one of the most prominent events celebrating that fact in the region. And since fashion design is an art, Miami-based Latin-lifestyle apparel brand Cubavera is sponsoring the 2012 festival with a series of events, giveaways and entertainment.

Kicking off the Presidents Day weekend event, February 16, 2012 from 9-12 pm, Cubavera will be taking over and completely transforming the Hunter Gallery and Atrium in the beautiful Streets of Mayfair in Coconut Grove. There, guests will enjoy catered food and beverages; a live painter; the musical entertainment of Latin band, Axis; cigar rollers; Cubavera model appearances; and two portrait artists who will create hand-sketched images for a small fee to benefit the United Way. Adding to the excitement, the event will premiere the short film “Follow Your Heart,” as well as release the exclusive MP3 of the film’s music single.

Paired with fun giveaways and prizes, the action will continue throughout the weekend during the Art Festival itself, from 10am-6pm daily, with a Cubavera pop-up shop featuring the latest styles from the Latin brand and an artistic installation highlighting Cuba’s rich cultural heritage.
