Miami’s tech-house scene is about to experience a seismic shift as Malóne, the Cuban-born, Miami-bred tech-house maestro, gears up to launch his own label and event series, aptly named WHYNOTUS. Riding high on the waves of success from 2023, Malóne has solidified his presence in the industry, earning accolades and reaching new heights as a DJ and producer.
The dexterous DJ/producer propelling into 2024 after his biggest year yet; 2023 saw Malóne named as one of Club Space’s resident DJs, his tracks “Muy Bien” and “Besame” soared to the #1 spot worldwide on Beatport’s AfroHouse segment, his BLOND:ISH collaboration “Voices Above” became an instant hit, and he released on esteemed labels like Saved, Insomniac, Abracadabra, and Watergate.
After being one of the original founders of the Hurry Up Slowly imprint, Malóne is now launching his own label and event series called WHYNOTUS.
WHYNOTUS is a doubt-killer, designed to empower both its artists and listeners to believe in themselves, and inspire everyone to think ‘if someone else is out there achieving their dreams, why can’t we do that too?’ Watch Malóne passionately announce the launch of WHYNOTUS
Malóne sees the label as a home for proper tech-house grooves that make people move, where he’ll release his own material as well as records from both heavy-weight talents and rising stars. WHYNOTUS’ sonic identity will be informed by Malóne’s upbringing in the Magic City, anchored by that signature, sexy Miami sound and floor-filling verve. The first WHYNOTUS single, “444” by Malóne, will drop on Friday, February 2.
Celebrate the launch of WHYNOTUS at Jolene Sound Room Miami next Friday, January 26! The launch party will be headlined by Malóne himself, with additional sets by his cohorts Cortes, Amal Nemer, and Edgar V b2b ODK.
