Classic denim brand Levi’s® and Miami’s trendy taqueria COYO Taco are blending fashion, flavor, and local culture in celebration of creativity, community and Cinco de Mayo with a new taco to hit the menu and limited-edition patches.
The COYO Taco team was inspired by Levi’s® timeless nature and wanted to combine their bold street-style vibes and passion for authentic Mexican flavors into one taco – Levi’s® Blue Jean Fuego Tacos ($10). Starting May 1st, taco and fashion enthusiasts alike can enjoy denim blue corn masa tortillas filled with marinated chicken, queso mixto, pico de gallo, salsa fresca and cilantro which will be available at all South Florida COYO Taco locations. Also, catch the COYO Taco staff in Levi’s® denim aprons, a new uniform addition.
To kick-off the launch, guests are invited to celebrate the partnership at the Brickell outpost on Cinco de Mayo (May 5th) from 12 p.m. – 5 p.m. for a limited time activation and a live mariachi band. Diners will receive a complimentary COYO Taco patch and denim customizable tote bag with the purchase of a Levi’s® Blue Jean Fuego Taco (while supplies last).
The limited edition COYO Taco patches will be available for purchase at select Levi’s® stores (Levi’s® Aventura, Levi’s® Dadeland, and Levi’s® Brickell) and all South Florida COYO Taco locations (3 for $30 | 1 for $12) while supplies last. Designs will be inspired by COYO Taco’s bold flavors, vibrant branding and of course – tacos.
“It’s a dream to join forces with Levi’s®,” said COYO Taco’s Co-Founder Sven Vogtland. “We’ve always been inspired by streetwear, art, and community — and this project brings all of those passions to life.”
The Levi’s® and COYO Taco partnership will be available all month of May. For more information and updates, visit www.coyotaco.com or follow @COYOTaco.
About COYO Taco
Miami’s freshest street food experience, COYO Taco is a trendy and laid back taqueria serving authentic Mexican fare with a modern twist. In January 2015, Coyoacan native Alan Drummond, along with vibe visionary Sven Vogtland, joined forces with seasoned Chef/partner Scott Linquist, to create a restaurant concept that the city of Miami has come to know and love. COYO’s flagship restaurant-venue is located in the heart of Miami’s Wynwood Arts District, and is open for lunch, dinner, and late-night service. The chic, yet simple space features indoor/outdoor dining with communal seating, and a speakeasy lounge complete with a collection of Mezcals and a weekly rotation of cutting-edge music programming, all complemented by a state of the art sound system. At COYO, guacamole is smashed to order and tortillas are handcrafted in Mexican tradition. Staying true to its Todo es Fresco or ‘Everything Fresh’ philosophy, produce is locally sourced, meat and seafood are naturally raised, and signature margaritas are made from scratch. COYO Taco has three locations in Miami with international outposts in Santo Domingo, D.R., Lisbon, Portugal and Medellín, Colombia.
