CALLING ALL VOLUNTEERS! GROVE BAY GRILL HOSTS COCONUT GROVE ISLAND CLEAN-UP
Bring your water shoes and sunblock for a day in the sun! Grove Bay Grill, the popular seafood and burger joint overlooking the Coconut Grove marina, is orchestrating an island clean-up event with Shake-A-Leg Miami, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the health, education and independence of the community. Interested in scoring good karma while enjoying an island adventure? Join Grove Bay Grill and Shake-A-Leg Miami as they clean up the coastal habitats surrounding the Coconut Grove marina.
After being transported to one of three islands, participants will help clean and bring waste back to the mainland, and deposit it in dumpsters. Rain or shine, the clean-up effort will continue as scheduled unless there is lightning or thunder. In the event of inclement weather, volunteers can participate in games and activities hosted by Shake-A-Leg.
Once the work is done, the fun continues at the Grove Bay Grill, where participants will be treated to live music, complimentary BBQ and complimentary Bud Light on draft.
When/Where:
Registration and departure will take place at 9AM on Saturday, August 6, 2016 from Shake-A-Leg, located at 2620 South Bayshore Drive, Grove Harbour Marina. The island clean-up will take place from 9AM-2PM followed by a BBQ from 2PM-4PM.
A minimum donation of $15 is required. All participants are expected to fill out a waiver prior to the event or the morning of.
