This Fall, internationally renowned chef Richard Sandoval is once again bringing his immersive Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) culinary celebration to Toro Toro, Sandoval’s Pan-Latin steakhouse located at the InterContinental Miami. The month-long campaign – which kicks off on Wednesday, October 1 and runs through Monday, November 3 – celebrates the rich traditions of Sandoval’s Mexican heritage through an unforgettable, multi-sensory experience that blurs the lines between the spirit world and physical realms, emphasizing the duality of life and death. To honor the campaign’s 5th anniversary, this year’s Día de los Muertos celebration will be presented through the lens of the moon which is a powerful symbol of cycles, memory and connection in Latin culture.

As part of the campaign, Toro Toro will be featuring an exclusive, a la carte menu of culinary and cocktail selections, each with a cultural significance to the celebration. Specialty dishes on offer include Pozole De Langosta – lobster, pozole, hominy corn, guajillo chili, lime and radish ($54); Ofrenda De Cempasúchil – lamb tenderloin, creamy purple potato mash, roasted heirloom carrots, charred ashes, smoky chipotle hibiscus sauce and marigold ($57); and Calabaza En Tacha – slow-cooked candied squash, piloncillo pepita compote and cinnamon ice cream ($24).

The flavorful menu will be accompanied by specialty cocktails inspired by the phases of the lmoon including the Mythic Essence – Sotol, Xtabentún, tangerine, calendula, honey and orange blossom ($20); Living Spirit – Blanco tequila, tamarin, Ancho Reyes, agave, black salt, blue corn tortilla and chipotle tuille ($21); and Moon’s Embrace – Abasolo Mexican Whiskey, Maker’s Mark Bourbon, cacao liqueur, cocoa, café de olla, orange bitter, rose and oblea ($22).
