This Fall, internationally renowned chef Richard Sandoval is once again bringing his immersive Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) culinary celebration to Toro Toro, Sandoval’s Pan-Latin steakhouse located at the InterContinental Miami. The month-long campaign – which kicks off on Monday, October 1 and runs through Sunday, November 3 – celebrates the rich traditions of Sandoval’s Mexican heritage through an unforgettable, multi-sensory experience that blurs the lines between the spirit world and physical realms, emphasizing the duality of life and death.
As part of the campaign, Toro Toro will be featuring an exclusive, a la carte menu of culinary and cocktail selections, each with a cultural significance to the celebration. Specialty dishes on offer include Black Enmoladas – duck carnitas confit, mole negro, horseradish crema fresca, cotija and purple watercress salad ($25); Chile Ancho Relleno – pork belly salpicon, sweet plantain, almond, black garlic charred tomato salsa and queso fresco ($32); Empanadas de Langosta – lobster, sweet corn, squid ink masa, black bean purée and Chile de árbol sauce ($26); and Filete en Salsa Negra – 6 oz beef tenderloin, tres chilis gastrique, heirloom carrot, butternut squash and agave purple mashed potato ($75).
The flavorful menu will be accompanied by $18 specialty cocktails including the Papel Picado Paloma – Gran Malo tequila, Giffard Créme de Violette, agave syrup, lime juice, red wine and grapefruit soda with a hibiscus salt rim, and a Marigold Margarita – Reposado tequila, tonic, Marigold simple syrup and fresh lime juice with a tajin rim.
