Hoy Como Ayer, the iconic live music venue in Miami’s Little Havana neighborhood, will reopen its doors after a five-year hiatus to locals and visitors under new management on Thursday, June 27. Hoy Como Ayer has been a cornerstone of Miami’s music and cultural scene for 25 years, showcasing a diverse array of musical talent and offering an unforgettable experience for guests. With its storied history and lively atmosphere, the venue has long been a cherished destination for those seeking the soulful rhythms of Latin music and beyond.

“While the nightlife landscape in Miami has evolved tremendously in the last five years, we’ve always felt like there was a missing piece. This is what motivated us to bring back Hoy Como Ayer, a venue that embodies the spirit of our community,” shared Jon Nguyen, partner at Hoy Como Ayer. “We are thrilled to reopen our doors and share the magic with both long-time guests and new visitors, offering an unforgettable experience that celebrates the heart and soul of Miami.”

The musical haven has now expanded to encompass 4,000 square feet of both indoor and outdoor spaces, promising guests an unparalleled blend of hospitality and enchanting ambiance. While preserving the timeless charm of Hoy Como Ayer, the 65-seat venue has undergone a transformative renovation, boasting a captivating wooden stage equipped with state-of-the-art lighting, sound systems, and mesmerizing special effects. Additionally, visitors can now unwind at a 65-seat bar, luxuriate in a 25-seat outdoor patio oasis, or revel in the intimate elegance of La Sala, a 140-seat wine bar offering an extensive selection of wines within a cozy, living room-like setting.

Guests can also enjoy a full bar menu, including bottle service and specialty cocktails such as Mamey Mojito, Colada Service (an espresso martini served in a colada cup), and a Mezcal White Negroni. Complementing these libations is a delectable bites menu, showcasing an eclectic fusion of Chino-Latino delicacies such as Sweet Corn Croquetas, Sweet & Sour Crispy Chicken, Fried Yucca, and Chinese BBQ Pork Bites. Later this summer, the venue will host a rotating lineup of local food trucks including Ted’s Burgers, PizzElla Miami Neapolitan Pizza, and Mr Tacos,  offering a variety of delectable bites to indulge in while enjoying the live performances. From traditional Cuban cuisine to innovative fusion dishes, there’s something for every palate.

Hoy Como Ayer, historically known for hosting exceptional talents such as Willy Chirino, Amaury Gutiérrez, Luis Bofill and the Spam Allstars, has partnered with Conecta Miami Arts, a multi-disciplinary arts organization dedicated to producing and presenting socially engaged artistic experiences for the public, to arrange its weekly lineup of live bands and musicians, bringing the vibrant sounds of salsa, son, merengue, and more back to the stage. The venue will also feature esteemed resident DJs, including the Grammy-nominated producer, musician, and DJ extraordinaire, Mr. Pauer. With his expert curation of eclectic beats and infectious vibes, Mr. Pauer will be one of the many artists who will elevate the atmosphere, ensuring that the energy remains electric well into the night.
