Sweet Liberty Drinks & Supply Co., the award-winning Miami Beach cocktail bar known for its innovative drinks, hospitality, and community spirit, has been officially recognized by Miami-Dade County with a proclamation designating June 20th as “Sweet Liberty Day” from this year forward. Presented by Commissioner Vicki L. Lopez on June 20, 2026, the proclamation honors Sweet Liberty’s contributions to Miami Beach’s hospitality landscape, its impact on cocktail culture and its longstanding commitment to the local community.
Situated in the vibrant Collins Park area alongside the Bass Art Museum, Sweet Liberty has become a cornerstone of Miami Beach nightlife. Founded and conceptualized by the late, award-winning bartender John Lermayer, along with restaurateur David Martinez and local bar veteran Dan Binkiewicz, the bar has earned accolades on both the World’s 50 Best Bars and North America’s 50 Best Bars lists. Beyond its industry recognition, Sweet Liberty stands as a testament to the vision and spirit of John Lermayer. In tribute to his profound impact on Miami Beach and the hospitality industry, in 2018, the City of Miami Beach designated June 21st as John Lermayer Day honoring the life and lasting legacy of the beloved bartender and Sweet Liberty co-founder.
